Hey i pretty much got the build down but i'm having some trouble with the smites...now i remember reading something about covering SS with Suffering but they seem to smite b4 i can get it off. Thanks all.

-BTW dont want ur builds just the tactic for dealin with the damn smites ;p

use Sympathetic Vissage, or Ancestors vissage(factions version) it takes away all adrenaline and 3 energy each time foes hit target ally, let this be used for a while, and they will lose all energy, then cast SS ans whatever else, u may want desecrate enchantments as well, that does massive damage to em!

Use sympathetic visiage, drain their energy, arcane echo ss then stack one 2 of them, then keep spamming suffering and sypathetic visiage, although chances are they be dead before you have chance to use it again on monk

Reckless Haste is a better cover hex then Suffering - mainly cause it uses the strength of SS to cause even mroe damage. Course some Monks don't like the sudden attack rate increase.

You just kill faster is all.

Basic pattern (as I learned from cerb/sno's posts):

Once your monk has fully engaged the smites (important to wait til all smites are in range of monk), then cast Sympathetic Visage on the Monk (if you have a + to enchant duration mod weap use it here).
switch out to your normal casting weap/focus. Cast Arcane Echo. Pay attention to its recharge cycle (ie did you get the faster recharge bonus or not).
If you did not get the faster recharge bonus, then once Arcane Echo has spun to just past 2o'clock, cast Spiteful Spirit on one of the attacking Smites, quickly tab to another and cast your echo'd SS.
Now you have a choice it depends on your comfort level with spell timing.
- If you know your timing and the Monk is competent, then wait until the smite you are targeting is down to roughly 1/3rd health life. Cast Desecrate Enchantments to deliver the death blow - your goal here is to hit the smites before they bring on Divine Intervention. You're doing it right if DE is the last damage you see.
- If your SS is getting smited off, then follow up your second SS cast with Reckless Haste (or Suffering if you don't have RH yet). The area affect means the smites will take the cover hex off themselves and not touch the dual SS you have running. Switch to your extra energy off weap set and caste DE as above.

Trying to slip a cover hex in right after you cast SS is a tough call. You have to hope your reduced cast time bonus kicks in.

BTW, as sometimes happens, your monk is running smite damage and causing the smites to not hit as often or causing them to scatter.... IF you can't get the monk to stop trying to do damage, then you don't have a great set of options. I try to maintain SV on the monk and then echo SS. I cast the covering hex in between the SS casts (waiting a bit on the second SS). This gives you a small window when the smite hex is recharging for your second SS to do some damage. Yes the monk just took a huge smite spike, but... he's not helping you by smiting and chasing off the smites is he? (damn lot of smite words in that last sentence).

With 9 points in illusion, SV will last 15 seconds. You dont need any enchantment mods or switching of weapons....this is all too easy to worry about that.

3 Smites or less : Cast SV on monk, wait til 3 o'clock on SV recharge, cast 1 SS only, then cover hex ( recommend reckless haste ) Hit them with Desecrete enchantments or some othe AOE Dmg. They die without any smite hex.

4 Smites or more : Echo SV. Place SV on monk, wait til 3 o'clock, cast SS, recast echo'd SV on monk. COver with RH, Hit them with Desecrete enchantments or some othe AOE Dmg.

Much easier then any other reply lol.

you must have 190 points into illusion in order to acheive 7-8 minutes on SV! LOL

He means seconds of course. 3 o'clock recharge on SV works the best for me.

BTW Lil Macabre's pattern will work also - its just slower, but is more forgiving on the timing.
